Hear now, Children of the Flame, the wisdom of Fire Communion. As we kindle the Sacred Fire—our bridge to the Divine Source—within the sanctified Circle, we honor its power with reverence and unwavering safety. These are not mere rules, but sacred protocols to honor the living connection.
The Three Pillars of Fire Communion:
1. Fire Guardian (Fire Spotter/Safety):
-Sacred Duty: One devoted soul, clear-minded and trained, must vigilantly guard the Circle, the Communing One, and the gathered faithful, holding the Veil of Protection. A Fire Extinguisher rests near, reserved for threats beyond the Veil.
-Protocol: Call clearly if unintended flame appears—"RIGHT THIGH!" or "LEFT SLEEVE!"—guiding the Communing One to smother it swiftly. If they falter, the Guardian acts with the Veil. For fires outside the Circle, use Veil saving Vessel of Suppression unless true emergency.
2. The Veil of Protection (Fire Safety Blanket):
-Purpose: To extinguish consecrated tools or a devotee touched by unintended flame. Wrap the blazing wicks completely, denying them breath. If flame embraces flesh, the Safety Bearer shall enfold the devotee within the Veil.
-Sacred Materials: Only hallowed cloths—pure wool, heavy cotton (duvetyne/commando cloth), or blessed Nomex. Synthetics melt and betray; test each Veil with a prayer-flame before use.
3. The Vessel of Suppression (Fire Extinguisher):
-Purpose: A final safeguard against uncontrollable flame, especially beyond the Circle. Check its sacred meter or date; an untested Vessel is hollow.
-Choosing Wisely:
-ABC: Common, but its dry powder harms flesh and breath. Use only as last resort.
-BC: Preferred near flesh. Its cold breath (CO2) can suffocate; never aim at the face.
-Sacred Act (P.A.S.S.):
Pull the seal.
Aim low at the fire's root.
Squeeze the life from it.
Sweep side-to-side until stillness returns.
Sanctifying the Circle (Environment)
-Location: A wide, open space—hallowed ground of earth, stone, or gravel. Far from trees, dry grass, dwellings, or the uninitiated.
-Wind: Heed its whispers! Know where it carries sparks or Sacred Nectar (fuel).
-Sacred Zones (20 paces apart):
-Chalice Ground(Fuel Depot): Where the Divine Essence (fuel) rests and tools are anointed.
-Purification Ring (Spin Off): Where excess Nectar is spun away.
-Sacred Fire Circle: Where fire is kindled and worship flows.
-Sobriety & Sanctity: Only clear-minded devotees may enter the Circle or serve as Fire Guardian . Intoxication dishonors the Flame. Seek permission from earthly stewards and heed local fire decrees.
The Divine Essence (Fuel) & Anointing Rites
Sacred Nectars:
-White Gas/Camp Fuel: Bright and fierce (low combustion). Respect its power to leap.
-Purified Lamp Oil: Gentle and enduring (high combustion). Safer for novices; tread carefully on its slick residue.
-Kerosene/Isopars: Used where blessed; know their purity.
-Avoid: E85 (impure), Gasoline (foul fumes).
Sacred Addendum: Always return Nectar to its original vessel.
The Chalice of Consecration (Dip Can):
A sealed metal vessel (army can, paint can) tested with water. Resides solely at the Chalice Ground. Close it after each anointing.
Rite of Anointing & Purification (Dipping & Spinning Off):
1. Briefly immerse wicks only in the Chalice at the Chalice Ground. Close the Chalice.
2. Move to the Purification Ring. Spin the tool firmly downward, shedding excess Nectar. No drops shall fall! Face downwind; guard against spraying others. Some catch the spray in a blessed cloth.
3. Proceed to the Circle of Communion. Discern the wind's path. Kindle the tool. Keep it moving—stagnant fire consumes its vessel.
Additional Sacred Commandments:
-Tools of Communion (Props): Inspect links, wicks, and joints *before* anointing. A failing tool becomes a fiery serpent.
-Vestments (Clothing): Wear only natural fibers (cotton, wool, leather) or hallowed fire-safe synthetics. Avoid loose garments. Dangling cloth invites the Flame's kiss.
-Crown of Flesh (Hair): Bind it tightly. Dampen it for added grace. Beware hairspray—it is incense for unintended fire.
-Clarity of Spirit (Sobriety): The Communing One and Flame Watcher must be clear-minded. Intoxication severs the sacred connection and invites peril.
Rite of Completion
Return the Sacred Nectar from the Chalice to its origin vessel using a hallowed funnel or baster. Give Reverence with this closing Sacred Act
Invocation for Safe Communion
"Source of All Flame,
As we kindle this spark in Your name,
Grant us reverence, focus, and sight,
To wield Your power with wisdom and right.
Guard our Circle, our flesh, and our breath,
In life, through the fire, and beyond death.
So flows the Shanan, sacred and bright.
Yahweh."
